About Me

Corey Dean Stone is a higher education professional, photographer, and outdoors enthusiast with Texan roots stretching back to the Republic of Texas.  While studying at Texas A&M University, Corey developed a passion for student involvement, engagement, and dialogues across difference.  Though graduating with a business degree, Corey returned to Texas A&M not long after graduation to work for his alma mater as the primary recruiter and first-generation student mentor for Mays Business School.  Within his work with first-generation college students, Corey developed a passion for first-gen college student support, inclusive learning community development, and Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, & Access (IDEA) programs and practices.  With over seven years of experience as a higher education professional and a master's degree in higher education administration, also from Texas A&M, Corey has made his vocational mission to advance the principles of access, inclusion, and equity on college campuses, to ensure that each student feels valued and empowered to achieve their transformative educational goals, both for themselves and their families.

For over ten years, Corey has developed his skills in professional photography, primarily focusing on portrait and lifestyle work, with emphasis on celebrations and communities in higher education.  Operating as CDS Creative, he utilizes primarily Nikon equipment and prioritizes accessibility, affordability, and inclusion within his photographic ventures.  In 2020, Corey launched Stone Family Agriculture LCC, a small agricultural operation aimed at laying the foundations for a sustainable, ethical family farm, in order to carry on the traditions and legacy of his roots.  Ultimately, Corey's mission is to advance educational, societal, and civic access, inclusion, and equity, as he journeys through this life, boldly stepping outside comfort zones, hearing new perspectives, and capturing moments with his camera along the way.
